Export controls and sanctions are more complex, more strictly enforced and more interrelated than ever.

New sanctions programs, shifting geopolitical tensions and increased enforcement mean exporters must be more vigilant than ever about who they do business with—and where. U.S. export controls both implement U.S. sanctions provisions through export embargoes and impose their own, separate requirements.

The challenge? These restrictions can take many different forms, and the terminology alone can be confusing.

Whether you’re new to export compliance or need a refresher on evolving requirements, join us for a free, one-hour webinar to better understand how these rules apply to your business—and how to avoid costly mistakes.

Joining us for this session is Lindsay Bernsen Wardlaw, the founder of Wardlaw Trade Law, a boutique U.S. trade law practice in the Washington, D.C. area focused on providing practical regulatory advice to multinational companies. She is also an adjunct law professor at the Georgetown University Law Center, where she teaches U.S. export control and sanctions law. Admitted in D.C., Maryland, and before the U.S. Court of International Trade, Lindsay achieved the nation’s highest score on the 2016 U.S. Customs Broker Exam and is a licensed U.S. customs broker.

At Wardlaw Trade Law, Lindsay advises clients on day-to-day questions regarding and advocacy before BIS, DDTC, OFAC, CBP, ICTS, and Census—including voluntary disclosures, investigations, licensing, classification, and transactional due diligence—helping them build business-friendly compliance programs and strategies that address their real-world operations.
