Shipping Solutions 9.22 and 8.22 Now Available

Shipping Solutions has released two new versions of its export documentation and compliance software: Shipping Solutions Professional and Enterprise Version 9.22 and Shipping Solutions Classic Version 8.22.

Current Shipping Solutions Annual Maintenance Program (AMP) subscribers can download the new versions for free from the AMP website. Non-subscribers can get an update by sending an email to help@shippingsolutionssoftware.com or calling (888) 890-7447.

This update includes a number of enhancements to the software:

• Includes changes to the Electronic Certificate of Origin process to work with the American World Trade Chamber of Commerce’s new certification portal. This portal provides an easy way for Shipping Solutions customers to get a stamped Certificate of Origin at a discounted price. Send an email to help@shippingsolutionsoftware.com if you'd like more information on this service.
• Adds new BIS License Type and Foreign Port codes.
• Allows users to customize how the FTA Origin Criteria is displayed on the USMCA Certifications of Origin. The default is to display the Origin Criteria as Criterion 1, Criterion 2, etc. With this change, users can change that to any text they or their customers need. To change the Origin Criteria labels, go to the Tools tab, Customize Documents screen and select the USMCA document you are using. Click the Criteria Labels button. Enter your preferred criteria name in the Custom Criteria Name column. Click Save. You can also get to the Customize Documents screen by right clicking on the document on the Preview/Print/Email screen and choosing Customize.
• Allows for customization of the field labels on the Panama TPA Certificate of Origin and Korea FTA Certificate of Origin. In addition, the email field on the Korea FTA has been enlarged. To customize the field labels, go to the Tools tab, Customize Documents screen for the document you want to modify. Click Field Labels. Enter your preferred labels in the Custom Field Name column. Click Save. You can also get to the Customize Documents screen by right clicking on the document on the EZ Start tab, Preview/Print/Email screen and choosing Customize.
• Adds additional customization options to the Generic Certificate of Origin such as making the Country of Origin field configurable, so that you can show a 2-character code or the full name of the country. To customize the document go to the Tools tab, Customize Documents screen and click Certificate of Origin (Generic). Alternatively, click the document on the EZ Start tab, Preview/Print/Email screen, right click and choose Customize.
• Fixes the logo on the USMCA (all versions) so that it displays correctly on continuation pages.
• Updates the way the Commercial and Proforma invoices print any additional freight and handling fees on the forms, so that no blank lines appear between the fees if a user chooses not to display some of those fees.
• Fixes weight calculations on the Commercial Invoice-Landscape version to better accommodate large values.
• Adds a “favorites” indicator to the Currency Database so that the currencies you use the most will appear at the top of the list on the EZ Start – Invoices screen. To designate favorite currencies, go to the Databases tab, Currencies screen. Check the box in the Favorite column next to any of the currencies. Those currencies will now be at the top of the list when you go to the EZ Start tab, Invoices - Proforma/Commercial screen and click the Invoice Currency or Alternate Currency drop-down boxes.

• Adds a button to calculate the Total Gross Mass and Tare Mass on the EZ Start tab, Dangerous Goods IMO screen. The Calc Mass button will add the Gross Weights shown next to each line item in the grid and put the total in the Total Gross Mass (Kg) field. It will also add up the Net Weights and subtract that total from the Gross Weight total and put the difference in the Tare Mass (Kg) field. If you change any of the line item weights, you will need to click the Calc Mass button again to recalculate the Total Gross Mass and Tare Mass fields.
• Adds a Dangerous Goods IMO document that does not include the blue border so it can be printed on paper with a blue border. This new document is found on the EZ Start tab, Preview/Print/Email screen and is called Dangerous Goods IMO (No Blue Border). The "legacy" DG documents should no longer be used. • Updates the wording on the AES – Load Shipment screen to match the ACE Portal EEI filing process.
• Includes other minor bug fixes.
